As I’m sure you’ve seen from my endless travel snapshots and vids, I’ve just come back from my babymoon in Portugal. It was just as magnificent as I imagined and we were both totally spoiled for our entire stay. After much deliberation a few months ago, Christian and I decided on two places to stay for our Portuguese babymoon and so we picked one resort each. Both perfect reflections of us and I honestly can’t wait for you to see them both.
After landing at Lisbon airport and travelling down the coast, first up for us was the utterly divine ‘Sublime Comporta’. I have never seen a hotel quite like this one, in a good way of course. It was truly nestled in the middle of nowhere, snuggled among pine trees and hugged by deep green forest. You’ll notice the modern, industrial and yet chic vibe of this beautiful resort and spa.
I have no doubt that Little Foot was eternally grateful for the quality of munch throughout our whole stay, not to mention the mesmerising pregnancy massage I was treated to from the on site spa. So take a seat, grab yourself a cup of tea and prepare to indulge yourself for one of Portugal’s most luxurious secret getaways.
Truly sublime food and perfect surroundings certainly made for the perfect oasis for all three of us.

We were then shown to our absolute treasure of a villa. It was the kind of villa you would find when flicking through inspirational travel magazines or stumble across when scrolling Pinterest looking for dreamy minimalist interiors for your future #housegoals. Or maybe that’s just me…
Perfect for travelling and also perfect for growing bumps
There’s nothing more peaceful than looking out every window and knowing you’re all alone
Every day starts much the same at the Sublime, with morning in my eyes and rays on my sheets. The day’s activities fold into one, consisting of a rhythmic repetition of eating, swimming, reading and sunning. What better place to indulge yourself.
Exquisite breakfast served in equally exquisite surroundings every morning
Overlooking the main pool of the resort sits the spa which I would highly recommend to anyone staying at the Sublime. Already being pro-massage at the best of times I simply used my pregnancy as an excuse to treat my body to a soothing relaxation massage to ease my muscles and strains.
When the sun dips, we spent most of our nights eating at the divine restaurant Sem Porta located at the hotel. We sampled everything on the menu by the end of our stay, an achievement I’m pretty proud of. I feel inclined to note that nothing, not even the prospect of beautiful photos can stand between a pregnant lady and her food. So, I’m sorry to say I have captured none of the culinary delights in this post. I suppose I could always go back and revisit…

My tummy is rumbling just thinking about the nightly fine dining at the Sem Porta restaurant
Scrumptious cocktails of the alcoholic and non-alcoholic variety
My absolute favourite part of the Sublime Comporta was the herb garden. A little trail guides you around boasting a vast array of herbs, fruits and vegetables. To anyone that knows me well, it’ll be of little surprise that this botanical element stole my heart. The home grown goodness picked from this very garden appears every night on your plate.
I hope you enjoyed reading about the ‘Sublime Comporta’. I know I certainly have hearts in my eyes just reminiscing over our perfect little babymoon here. Perhaps when we return… we’ll have an extra little human with us.
Thank you Sublime for having us
More Portuguese treats will be unravelling on ‘The Blonde Tonic’ so keep your eyes peeled. Take a little look at the ‘Sublime Comporta’ and book a cheeky little stay for yourself…
