Last weekend was my birthday. The grand old age of 28 and I’m feeling pretty good about it.
Obviously living so far from home here in Cayman, it’s slightly unconventional with no family to celebrate with, but that’s what Skype is for, right?! After a busy few months I was actually looking forward to a small and intimate birthday weekend with just my boys around and it turned out to be precisely what I was hoping for and more. Treats and sweets and feeling rather like a Princess for the whole weekend is something I have to say I rather enjoyed. I do so wish birthdays happened a little more often.
Also, I’d just like to take this moment to say that I wasn’t expecting to write about this and so, as per usual I’m demonstrating the art of ‘how to look awkward in photos’. However, it was special to me and I just don’t mind how they turned out, reflecting just makes me super happy and super grateful.
Our first evening was at ‘The Ritz Carlton‘ on Seven Mile Beach, celebrating my final night being 27. It was the perfect backdrop for an evening of elegant cocktails and the best sushi on the island at ‘Taikun‘.
Outfit Details
I was wrapped by a Mr Ralph Lauren and walked with a Mr (another) Christian Dior J’Adior Slingbacks
I woke up on the morning of April 8th to quite the surprise. The most beautiful cake in the world was all mine, and incredibly fitting with our tropical, Caribbean life and so entirely swoon-worthy. I’m not entirely sure how he managed to hide a cake of that size from me but I won’t delve too much into it for fear of exposing my own stupidity.
I’ll also address the elephant in the room here… No, I did not plan my timely tropical pyjama situation. Trust me, if I was going to prepare, a spot of mascara wouldn’t have gone a miss.
There’s always one…
My only real birthday request was to have a roast, lamb preferably due to the start of the British springtime. I just really fancied a whole roast dinner complete with all the trimmings and so Mr Burns-Di Lauro completed this absolute beauty with homemade mint sauce to top it all off.
So for me, this weekend was completely perfect and these are just a small collection from our weekend shenanigans.
On reflection, even though I haven’t done my hair in some of these photos, and I’m not wearing any make up (and let us not forget my toucan print pyjamas…), this is what our real life looks like, and it makes me happy, really happy! I hope you enjoyed this short little birthday bundle post and you should stick around the blog for more upcoming posts.
Much Love

Happy belated birthday! I love those flowers!
Birthdays away from family are a bit difficult, but you’re in the beautiful Caribbean so at least the weather was much better. 🙂
Those shoes! SO cute! Looks like such a good birthday – even without a large family gathering, it looks like a special day. 🙂
Happy birthday!! You looked so pretty! Hope your 28th year is amazing!
