Hi y’all!
I’m back again *waves*
As promised from my last blog post, I’m getting back into the blogging vibes and weirdly, this week I’ve found a lot of beauty around me. Autumn is my absolute favourite season and coming from abroad makes me feel like I can appreciate it even more. Considering it’s nearly November, it has been exceptionally warm so I’ve been unable to wrap up and get snuggly in true autumnal fashion. I remember as a child frolicking around in huge piles of leaves, in coats and hats, and now, I’m wanting to leave my coat at home and maybe even whip out the sunscreen. Trust me, that’s a big deal coming from a girl who worships the double duvet 12 months of the year.
Our little trio are doing our best to heal ourselves and make the most of our surroundings here in Jersey, doing as much as we can to ensure we’re all putting both feet (and paws) forward. It’s hard not to feel hopeful when you’re surrounded by such beautiful scenery, sunshine and sand dunes.
Where we’re living at the moment is right on the cusp of the Jersey dunes. This has always been one of our favourite walking spots and if you were to ask Floyd, he’d feel inclined to agree. You can spend hours exploring and adventuring the dizzy heights of the sand mountains. For us, it doesn’t take too long to completely wear ourselves out so we always finish off with a cooling beverage at the wonderful Le Braye Café located just off St Ouen’s beach. In the chilly winter months though, I trade my cooling ginger beer for a cosy hot chocolate with extra cream. There’s nothing quite like a piping deliciously rich hot chocolate to defrost numb fingers and frozen noses. Le Braye is most certainly worth paying a visit to.
Dog vs Dunes with his two favourite pet humans…
Along with many of the BVI Hurricane Irma evacuees, we have been staying at the Les Ormes winter lets on a short term basis. Sweet and snug little cabins ideal for both summer and winter getaways.
We like to grab our drinks and make a beeline straight for the beach wall, a perfect spot to dangle your feet over and watch the tide come in…
Aaaand we’re pooped!
Thanks for having a little read of our autumnal adventures. Only now am I noticing quite how many photos of Floyd there are ha! What a cutie…
Catch up soon!
Much Love
