Sorry yet again for the delay in posting. ONLY NOW DO I FINALLY HAVE WIFI!!! It is a glorious moment. We’re in, we’re settled and the new house is a delight to behold. There’s a possibility that I might never, ever leave here. I’ve enjoyed the detachment but I’ve missed idle browsing about dogs doing ridiculous things and the joys of Pinterest. How else can I plan the interior of my future house that I’m currently yet to own?!
Anywho… I’m writing today about a gorgeous little restaurant we found here in Tortola. It’s called Brandywine Restaurant and it’s hidden up a little road surrounded by breathtaking views of the crystal waters. We want to try as many new places as possible and so far, Brandywine sits proudly on the top spot. It had the perfect combination of beautiful food, outstanding atmosphere and view; the members of staff were also so so friendly. Our dining experience escalated slightly, as a light lunch rapidly evolved into a three course meal. Though, you won’t find me complaining.
We started off with a drink on the veranda overlooking what feels like the entire island. You’ll notice in this shot how sunny it is. You’ll also notice how I’m sitting IN the sun. Well, at that moment in time I was frazzling like a rasher of bacon, see photos at the end of the post, ha! Despite the skin singe over my back… I was having a lovely time as the cocktails were delightful. The restaurant itself is nestled among lots of greenery and vines and is tiered on a few levels. Judging by the size, it’s clearly a very popular place, however we had the place all to ourselves. I noticed, among the greenery, fairy lights and little lanterns placed all over the restaurant which made me think how magical it must look at night time. I’m biased of course as I’m a complete sucker for anywhere with fairy lights. But, what a perfect excuse to visit again…
So here we go, photo time
Due to such a delectable looking menu, we struggled to decide what to have for our main course. We asked for a strong recommendation and so we ended up with, quite possibly, the largest Paella portion for two I’ve ever seen. I also think it’s nice to give a big ‘thumbs up’ to awesome people that you meet along your travels… and KJ, who works at Brandywine, was awesome. If you find yourself over at Brandywine be sure to say “hi”.
A totally scrummy afternoon with the sun on our faces and too much food in our tummies! We thought we’d have a look around, have a little explore, you know, to ease both the indigestion and our nosey temperaments…
There we have it, your introduction to Brandywine Restaurant.
