It’s been a while but now I’m back. I’ve been a little busy here and there….I went and finally got myself married 🙂 I’ll be writing all about it soon. We went straight off on our honeymoon the day after the wedding and it’s all been a beautiful sparkling whirlwind since. We spent two and half AMAZING weeks exploring Tahiti and then finishing up with a city break to San Francisco.
For anyone that knows me and Christian, we love to explore and see as much of the World as we can. As you can imagine, exploring can work up quite the appetite. Being the foodies that we are, we always try to stumble across little fine tasting gems nestled in whichever place we find ourselves. On this particular occasion it was San Francisco and we really found an unforgettable little pearl. I’m going to wade in with a strong bold statement revealing that of all the fine dining experiences over the years… this one has in fact overtaken them all, claiming my new number one spot. I’ll waste no more time in introducing Sons & Daughters.
A seasonally inspired restaurant that owns its own farm and uses its very own freshly grown ingredients, go and check out ‘Dark Hill Farm‘ for the most amazing visuals and to see what they get up to out there. It’s pretty amazing to know exactly where your food comes from and to know that your food will always be served with a side of fresh, green, healthy and modest pride.
So here we go….
Okay, starting for real now I promise…
If you’re hungry right about now… I suggest either: 1) you stop reading; or 2) go and get yourself a satisfying snack to get you through the rest of this post…
BUTTERNUT Salsify and Chicken Skin
BRUSSELS SPROUT Celery Root & White Fish
(FYI every course came with a different side of bread. Honestly the most delectable baked beauties I’ve experienced on this Earth)
CAULIFLOWER Passionfruit and Trout Roe
SQUID Persimmon and Fennel
MY FAVOURITE OF THE EVENING
QUAIL Gooseberry and Yam
LEMON Poppyseed and Creme Fraiche
CHOCOLATE Agastache and Caramel
Sons & Daughters Special Milk & Cookies
And there we have it, my favourite fine dining experience to date 🙂
If you find yourself wandering amongst the gems of San Francisco be sure to pop a date in the diary to visit Sons & Daughters; you will not regret it.
